Mont-Carmel is a municipality in the Kamouraska Regional County Municipality in Quebec (Canada), located in the administrative region of Bas-Saint-Laurent.
Its name refers to Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel (Palestine).
Located 50 km from Riviere-du-Loup, 120 km from Quebec City and 10 km south of the St. Lawrence River, the municipality is located in the Notre-Dame Mountains and its foothills. Mont-Carmel has a total area of 440.07 km2 (of which 428.99 km2 is land), making it the largest municipality in Kamouraska.
The relief of Mont-Carmel is characteristic of the Notre-Dame Mountains in Bas-Saint-Laurent. The elevation increases gradually towards the south. The minimum altitude is approximately 90 m and the maximum altitude is 580 m.
